The Three Golliwogs- Enid Blyton, can be found on ebay, abebooks and amazon . I've seen them from £11-£140,depending on what year they were printed, as far as I can tell there were many copies with the original name.

Hi, I too grew up on Enid Blyton and was, is and always will be an ardent fan. Even my children too have been encouraged by me to read Blyton. I am in search of 'The Three Golliwogs' and am unable to lay my hand on one. Could anyone tell me where I could get one for myself? I know that the name is now changed, but I would prefer the older version... if not ,,, the new version would do.

Shebana Coelho should check out Lavanya Sankaran's " Red Carpet" - a collection of short stories. There is one devoted to Enid Blytons or school girls from Banglore who are totally into it.......

Program on the emergence of civilization.

"14 species of large animals capable of domesitcation in the history of mankind.
None from the sub-Saharan African continent.
13 from Europe, Asia and northern Africa."
Favor.
And disfavor.

They point out Africans

Hi again, and guess what?

I stumbled on your blog again when I was searching for some Blyton-related information, and realised you had replied to the comment I posted six months ago. Wish I could be automatically notified via email when something like this happens! Or perhaps I should subscribe to the RSS feed...

I haven't been able to find a link to the "Mein Kampf of Buttered Scones", but Tilottama describes having located the author (Achal Prabhala) in her blog.

See link: http://tilotamma.blogspot.com

She's posted Prabhala's "Trouble in Toyland" there, if you'd like to read it. I did, and though I'm not *critical* of Blyton, I feel the author does have a point. A good many of them, in fact.

I had the good luck to speak to Shebana about my experiences as someone who grew up on Blyton in the 1970s, and I believe I was quoted in the program. Couldn't listen to it though... I'm hoping I'll have access to a copy someday soon!
